One detail worth circling: waterpark admission is not automatically included with your RV site or cabin booking. You buy it separately. But resort guests get a discounted gate rate when you show your resort wristband, so wear the wristband. Yes, even though it's been on your kid's arm for three days and has achieved a texture.
What's Actually In There?
This is not a pool with one sad slide and a vending machine.
Pirates Bay has a full lineup of attractions, including:

The Splash Zone is the real MVP of the parenting experience here. Your toddler gets a whole world to lose their mind over while your ten year old goes and gets launched down the Thunder Bowl fourteen times in a row. Everybody's happy, nobody's negotiating.
There are also shaded cabanas if your group wants a home base, and Ship Wrecks on site for food. Which matters more than it sounds, because outside food and drinks aren't allowed in the park. Lunch is happening there whether you planned it or not.
The Chesnut Bay Advantage
Here's the part that actually changes your day.
You're staying at the resort. The waterpark is right up the road. That means you can do the thing that is basically impossible at a regular waterpark trip: go home in the middle of the day.
Morning slides. Head back to your RV site or cabin for lunch and a nap that you will absolutely also be taking.
Or flip it entirely and skip the morning. Roll in after 4 p.m. on the $15.99 ticket, do two hours of slides, and be back at your fire ring by dark.
No hotel. No packing a cooler like you're crossing a desert. No "we drove all this way so we're staying until close" energy that ends with someone crying in the parking lot. (Sometimes it's the kid.)
And when the waterpark day is done, you've still got four pools back at the resort, plus Weiss Lake 0.2 miles away, mini golf, and a fire ring with your name on it.
Rules to Know Before You Go
Nobody wants the gate conversation. Here's what's actually enforced, straight from the park's policy page:
- No outside food or drinks. This is the big one, and it catches campers constantly. Leave the cooler at the site. Sealed water bottles and baby formula are fine. No glass containers of any kind.
- No outside chairs or loungers. Tents and freestanding shade structures are out too. Chair-mounted umbrellas and parasols are allowed. This is what the cabanas are for.
- Flotation devices: you can bring your own as long as it's U.S. Coast Guard approved. But personal flotation devices and life jackets are not permitted on the water slides.
- The swimwear rule that gets everybody: swimwear with metal buttons, rivets, zippers or snaps can't go on the water slides. So the cutoff denim shorts your kid basically lives in? Not happening. Denim, long pants in the water attractions, thongs and transparent clothing are all out. Pack real swim trunks.
- Kids under 12 have to be with a responsible companion who's at least 16.
- Parking is included with admission at no extra cost.
Forgot something? There's a gift shop inside selling sunscreen, towels, swim gear and apparel, which is a solid insurance policy for the "we drove 0.4 miles and still forgot the sunscreen" scenario. Which, statistically, is all of us.
