🎣 Fall Fishing Hotspots
"With the colorful leaves, cooler temps, and calm mornings, the fish are biting and the deer are moving — doesn't get better than that," says Chris.
Lake Taneycomo:
In the trophy area, the big Rainbow Trout are on fire! You can catch as many as 40 a day using a gray scud, but remember — it's catch and release only in that section.
Bull Shoals Lake:
Crappie fishing has been excellent this fall, especially around brush piles installed by the Missouri Department of Conservation. These attract plenty of fish and are holding strong this season. Chris recommends minnows, Bobby Garland, or Monkey Milk Jigs for the best bite.
Walleye Watch:
Our friend Mr. Dunn, from Dunn's Sporting Goods, has been pulling in walleye using vertical jigging spoons near the thermocline in standing timber. As the weather cools, shiners and bluegill move deeper, which means it's prime time for slow drifting for trophy walleye.
🦌 Hunting in the Ozarks
Archery season is open, and the bucks are on the move.
"I'm starting to see new bucks on camera every week," says Chris. "Once that cold weather hits, they'll be in full rut!"
